Simply click the small microphone icon to the side of all live chat text inputs and start talking.

This live chat feature enables a chat operator to put a client 'on hold' or pause the chat session.

This enables us to track your visitors ( if enabled ) right down to the street / address level.

Live chat HTML5 Based Geo-tracking.
This method of Geo-tracking is newer and only supported by browsers that support the new HTML5 standard.
The latest versions of Firefox, Internet explorer and Chrome all support this feature along with mobile phones.
When this method is enabled, IMsupporting will request that the visitor share their location with us when starting a new live chat session.

If the user clicks yes, We will then gather their location based on various metrics.
These include:
IP address.
What wireless networks are in range.
GPS signal.
Etc..
Note:
If a user does not allow access to this information, We will only be able to provide you with a lower resolution guess of their location
based on the "IP based" version of geo tracking.
While this method is more intrusive than any other ( As we need to ask the end user for permission ) it can be very useful for business's that rely on user location for support or even for their core business use.
For example: A Taxi firm may want to know the users location if the end user themselves do not know it.
Standard / IP Based Geo-tracking.
With the IP based Geo-tracking feature, IMsupporting will look at the end users IP address and then match this against
a database of known address's and locations based on those address's.
Locations based on this method can be flawed and only correct 80% or so of the time.
The resolution of locations found by this method is also lower and in most cases can only find the nearest Town or City
to the end user.

Its been a while, How are you all?
We have been great recently ( although very busy with new chat features )

Today im going to talk about TWO new live chat features that most users will see and use.
Other features have been added, However these are mostly small enhancements not worth mentioning.

Ok,
So, lets get going shall we?

- Live chat user is typing indicator.

This is a small enhancement that we have been working on for some time.
Any live chat solution should come with it and we decided that it was just unacceptable to not have this feature any more.

So after some testing, Here it is.
The "user is typing" message will appear at the bottom of any live chat session.

This enables you and the end user to identify if the chat is still active, Or to expect a reply any moment.

IMsupporting comes with Idle detection anyway, So this feature really only helps when your waiting for a long text reply and your not sure if they are working on it.

- Personal login page.

We have also launched a new live chat feature that enables you to have a custom login page for you and your operators.

Simply put,
You upload a nice header image with your company logo and that's it!

Two updates in Two days?
Wow I hear you cry..

Well the reason is, We are releasing lots of new live chat features and here is a new one.

Along with the normal visitor monitoring tools you get ( Visitor geolocation, Last visit info etc etc )
We have now added a new feature to the live support software.

This one give you a graphical view of who is browsing your website in realtime with information about that user.

The live chat software includes many ways to track your visitors and this one complements the others perfectly.

Rather than spending our time on idle gossip and posting what live chat features we will be adding, We have spent our time actually implementing them for you.

What have we added?

Realtime website visitor tracking

You now get a nice view of when someone visits your website in realtime, You can then check who they are, Where they are from and some other information regarding that visit.

Realtime visitor geo-location
We now map every visitor on a world map for you to view whenever you want to.
This is a great way to see where your visitors are coming from and helps you target your users.

Invisible chat images ( when your live support team is offline )
You can choose live chat icons / buttons that match your website, But not only this. You can upload your own and even have them change to invisible when no one is available to chat.

Unlimited operators
We have enabled all our users the ability to have as many live chat operators as needed.
We dont charge for each operator ( Some sites charge up to £50 per operator! ) This we feel is not fair.
The only charges we apply is to the actual chatting part of the live chat software.
Pay for what you use.

Realtime logs
You can now view what all your staff are doing in realtime. Monitor whos chatting to who and who has done what.

Private operator chat
All operators have the ability to join another staff members live chat / live support session and talk to them in a private window ( away from the client ) This is a great way for everyone to help each other but without the client knowing.

Call for help
Every live chat session has a button that an operator can click. This "SOS" button enables other live chat operators to request help from other support staff.
Staff can then join the chat and either talk to the client or to the staff needing help in a private window.

Layout and design
Change the text into your own language, Change the header logos and more.
This enables you to integrate the chat system into your website and keep your own website theme throughout.

This gives your visitors the impression of a seamless integration of the live chat software.

Ban users
You can block users who abuse the system

HTML5 ( Google desktop notifications )
If you use the system in Google Chrome , You now have an extra feature of Desktop notifications.
This means that for every new live chat / live support session that starts, You can get a popup onto your desktop even if you have the chat window minimised.

SMS alerts
We can now send you an instant message to your phone(s) when a new chat session request comes through.

Audio alerts
You will now hear a sound ( if enabled ) when a new chat request comes through.

Ticketing system
A basic free ticketing system is now included. You can give your customers a unique helpdesk ref for every live chat session.

Email live chat logs
If enabled, You can receive a copy of every chat session to your inbox for logging and later reference.

Popup live chat requests
You also have the option to use a timed live chat request to pop-up onto your users screens.

OK , Here I am again.
Lets see what Day 2 brings.

The iNeedHits.com account was set-up by the time I woke up this morning ( so that's promising )

While the account is now live, I don't see much in the way of a traffic increase as yet. However what can you expect in such a short amount of time!

Also, As their site notes. It all depends on your keyword.
I chose "support software" as this a very busy keyword across the google network and others, So it should* be fairly dense on here also.

So, Only time will tell ( Updates to follow )

On a side note,

I've figured out how the service works...
It appears that the either own or are part of a member network of small search engines and directory websites. When you use this "Top-Up" service your advert will appear in 1 of 3 searches as a "sponsored kind of link"

Now I suppose in reality this is a good idea. How how effective it is remains to be seen.

It is a real shame however that the domain im advertising also doesn't appear in their search engines normal results for the same keywords.
Some times, I managed to get 3 results back, and none were mine. So i assume its just the ad banner they have control of?

It would make sense to at least list the domain in the results. Not only for added bang for ya buck but to show more results and making their pages seem more full with content...

The quality of their search engine users will make a huge difference. ( ie: Were their users sent to them by accident or via some kind of popup or domain squat? ) Or maybe they just have some good engines that people prefer to use than google?

Hummm...

Fingers crossed, I suppose if they bring me customers and we make profit from using them, Then I see absolutely no reason why not to invest much more money in iNeedHits.

But "And its a big but" we will have to wait and see how it performs.

Its looking promising. Lets hope it doesn't let me down.

While im not expecting anything massive from this company. I really would like to be able to give good feedback in amongst the bad feedback and PR they seem to receive.

I believe company's can change.. But how much.

Is Ineedhits.com worth the money?

Well,
I've decided to give them a try.
While IMsupporting do get a steady feed or traffic, We could do with more to help increase our growing client-base faster and without spending thousands per month on google ads.

Here we go then.

We have signed up and decided to choose the TopUp traffic package at $14.99 PerMonth.

While this isn't a huge amount of cash for any growing company, Its still enough to at least see some results. (Hopefully.)

Now we have signed up with our credit-card and purchased the package its now in status "Pending" saying "Service - Inprogress "

We assume this means that they ware working on it.

The site says live in 48 Hours ( So we will find out soon enough )

Apparently the package will give us top10 listings for our keyword "live support software" on a lot of search engines.
#cough# we will see , Once again.

Ill post back once I have an update.

PHP turning links in a string to a real html link.

Hi all,

Only a small post here.

I recently came across a problem, where sometimes one of my users will want to post a url ( ie: http://www.google.com ) into a message.

I thought long and hard on how I could possibly do this i even thought about having a separate procedure to convert it.

After hours of thinking , I decided it has to be easy with regex right?

It turns out it IS! yay. shame i dont know regex.

However I found this GREAT site that has a simple example of how to do it.

Anyway, I thought id quick elaborate on how to use it ( im sure you know how to anyway. )

Say you has a string like.
$str = "Hello, why not visit http://www.google.com";

If you echoed this to a browser , You cant click it :(

So,
What you need to do using this guys cool regex is.

$str = "Hello, why not visit http://www.google.com";

echo $str; // You cant click the link

$str = ereg_replace("[[:alpha:]]+://[^<>[:space:]]+[[:alnum:]/]","\\0", $str);

echo $str; // Now you can click it!

if you want the user to open a new window when its clicked.
Use:
$str = ereg_replace("[[:alpha:]]+://[^<>[:space:]]+[[:alnum:]/]","\\0", $str);

( adding the target=blank )

How to get #1 place on search engines for your keywords

For a while now, I've been working with websites and spent a lot of time trying to get the best placement for my website.

Today im going to be talking about my new venture IMsupporting.com

Now, I know there's a LOT of competition out there and these other guys.
Whilst they may have a worst product that costs more. It just isnt practical for me to compete head on with the search engines.

So lesson one.
1- Think about what you offer, What keywords your potential users will be using for search and make sure you content CONTAINS! said keyword.

Ok, So in my case.
Its a live support provider, Offering real time live support software.

I need to check that these sayings are in the content, keywords , title and description.

Have you noticed when you search.. Words are highlighted in the websites description and title in google bing etc.
Well. You need to make sure you have your keywords in the title also!

So in my case I did this:

meta name="description" content="IMsupporting , Real time live help software and live support chat software. Live help support software and live support script"
meta name="keywords" content="live help, real time support, support chat, realtime live help, website support, support software, unlimited operators, live support, realtime chat, live help script, support script"

title: Real time live help software and live support chat software. Live support software and live help support script

PLUS my content also has information relating to my targetted keywords.

As you see above, Ive highlighted part of the title.

If you google this or bing it. You will find my site either first or near it.

I havent targetted the keywords BIG sites use as i will NEVER rank.
the best thing to do is target different keywords, Yes people dont search as much for them, But people still do.
And you should see a good result.

Once my site was added to google, I changed my source and within a day, Both bing and google had a copy.
So you should see results quickly.
